I am SOOO excited for November, National Novel Writing Month! During NaNoWriMo Camp 2017 I reached my goal of 20,000. I’m hoping to finish editing and revising it before November. What do you think your goal for NaNoWriMo 2017 will be? I think I will try to have a goal of 30,000 this year. Last year during NaNoWriMo 2016 I had a goal of 3,000–and I reached it pretty easily. So this year I’m multiplying my goal by ten. I hope I can reach it! Are you planning to participate in NaNoWriMo 2017?
I made cupcakes last Saturday. I made 18 cupcakes–a mix of kitten cupcakes and surprise cupcakes. The kitten cupcakes I made from the book Hello Cupcake by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson. It’s basically a cupcake decorated in a really fancy way. I followed the recipe (pretty much) and I think it turned out pretty well! I also made it gluten free–why would I make it glutenous?
Fat Cats from Hello Cupcake
- 9 Chocolate Cupcakes (Totally random number, but that’s how many I did)
- 1 16 oz can of vanilla frosting
- Black and Orange food coloring
- 1/2 can chocolate frosting
- Gluten Free Graham Crackers (I used Smorable’s )
- 18 Mentos (I meant to get white but accidentally got green, but I still think they turned out okay)
- 9 cherry Runts
- 18 chocolate chips
- 4 red Starbursts
What you do is basically follow the directions but don’t make the cat’s lower part of their body. Also I didn’t make the fur be in individual pieces. I just made it smooth because it was easier. 🙂 Another thing I did was cut the graham crackers into triangles and then stick them in and frost them. When you cut the graham crackers go slowly. There will be some crumbs and you can put those on the cat’s tongue.
I made surprise cupcakes just by experimenting with the other cupcakes using the extra toppings and frosting. They sometimes had candy hidden inside of the cupcake.
What is your favorite word?
Anna (hears a car): I think I hear Mom coming home! That’s her driving!
Lily: No, that’s a trash truck. Mom’s not a trash truck.
Emma: Lily, when you’re done with your food you need to put your plate in the sink. Gently.
Anna: Why gently?
Emma: So it doesn’t break.
Lily: Thank you! Ordering 705 twisty cello stools. Sign right here, look at the pictures. Order up and it will go to Nixon, so bye!
Anna: Yeah yeah yeah! (yelling at her Kindle Fire)
Lily: Those pokey thingys. Oh! Velcro! Velcro, stop poking me!
Johnny: But I don’t drop it so if I find it I’ll give it to you.
Yesterday was Percy Weasley’s Birthday. The third oldest Weasley, Ministry worker, rule following person, and a horrible singer (at least according to Ron). Sounds like everybody’s favorite person, right? He had a huge fight with his parents, and left his family to work for the Ministry of Magic. His parents couldn’t even bear to hear his name. Then he writes to his younger brother Ron telling him to stop being best friends with Harry Potter. He loves power–you can probably tell from how he loves being Head Boy and Prefect.
But anyways in the end he goes back with his family and leaves the Ministry. He fights in the Battle of Hogwarts–with his family, and not his Ministry “friends”. Just in time for his brother Fred to die.
There will be no posts for a while and there haven’t been posts because right now I am vacation.
What would you consider to be your lucky number?
When I was in Scotland, one of the first things we did was visit The Elephant House, where several famous authors have written, including J.K Rowling.
J.K Rowling wrote some of the Harry Potter books here, and the Elephant House became famous for that. Soon other famous authors came to visit and write. They have LOTS of good food. My favorites are the gluten free brownies and the hot chocolate.
Happy Camera Day! I love cameras. They are so useful, and are also pretty amazing. They help us record things and share them, and also provide a place for memories so that you have a tangible memory. Thank you cameras!
