It’s almost November, and I’ve been doing a lot of prep for NaNoWriMo. Read to see how I’ve been preparing!
Usually I plan a bit for NaNoWriMo (and sometimes don’t think of an idea until November 1), but this year I have been doing a lot of prep.
Last Camp NaNoWriMo, I quit (read about it here). Then I started writing the same story for the fifth time. That’s my plan on what to write for NaNoWriMo this year.
I know that I kind of cheated since I started already and I’m about 17,000 words in. But this year I have school, and that means I can’t write during the day like I did when I was homeschooled.
This year I also started a notebook with tons of information on my characters. In the notebook, here’s a map, character profiles, how people get magic, how the kingdom was made, etc. I even made a Pinterest board!
I refer to that notebook a lot. It has been very useful especially since before I was having issues with all of my characters kind of being the same, but now I can look at the notebook and think of how they would react in a situation.
What are you doing for NaNoWriMo this year?
