Poetry: Gone into Darkness

Gone Into Darkness

Something you held

is gone.

Pulled from the gentle

grasp of your hands

roughly

into darkness.

It is gone,

never to be found,

nor seen

ever again.

You cry

at the sudden

emptiness

of your hands.

It is gone,

never to be seen

nor found

again.

It has been

swallowed by the darkness,

and you feel empty.

Empty,

empty.

Gone.

Into the darkness,

it has been swallowed.

And you are

empty.
