Short Story-The Strange Fruit

Once in a town called Altoville, there lived a small family. There was one boy and one girl, and they lived in a small red house with gingerbread trim. When they first moved in, they were looking around in their backyard and they saw a strange tree. The tree had strange fruit growing on it.

“Well what kind of fruit is that?” asked the mom.

“Yes, I sure don’t know. What do you kids think that fruit is?” the dad said in wonder.

“I think that it is an alvocado tree! Or maybe an orange tree! Or a lemon tree!” the girl said.

“I don’t know what it is! Maybe a lemon!” the boy said excitedly.

Years after the family moved in, the tree still grew and grew, and the fruits ripened and the family ate them. But they never figured out what kind of food grew on the tree. Maybe it was pizza!

What do you think the fruits were?
