What I Write About and Science Fiction

Usually at some point in time when I’m meeting people, writing comes up. And, of course, they ask me what I write.

And I generally don’t know what to say. What do they mean? Genre? Length?

Usually I go with genre, and then, if they aren’t satisfied, I tell them about what I’m currently writing.

The genres I usually write are fantasy and realistic fiction. Also sometimes opinion pieces. But never science fiction.

Why not science fiction?

I find most of it terrifying. Seriously. Ever since I was little, I was scared of Wall E, Big Hero Six, and every single other robot movie. And I don’t like most science fiction books. (Although I was pretty okay with A Wrinkle in Time) Science fiction is so terrifying. It is scary, and unrealistic, and sorry for the rant. 😉

Do you like science fiction?

About Me

Hi! I’m Emma! I love to bake, eat (anything gluten free that doesn’t taste like cardboard), craft, write, play cello, sing, do calligraphy and play with my dog, Cali (She’s on Instagram now!) Yeah, my bedroom is also actually the cupboard under the stairs, just like Harry Potter 🙂
